Executive and Managerial Coaching
As times get more challenging many companies are considering multi-skilling executives and managers to avoid having to down size. While the aim is to improve their performance with additional or improve skills the question is “how can this be accomplished with the co-operation of all involved?”
We recognise that executive and managerial coaching has as its purpose a clear organisational aspect. In addition to the coaching relationship a facilitator relationship needs to be established between the client and the organisation to ensure all involved are up to date with what has been accomplished. A wide variety of techniques and methods are used to help the client achieve a mutually identified set of goals to improve their performance, therefore improving the effectiveness of the client's organisation within a defined coaching structure.

Some areas where coaching is often needed include:

  • Strategy development
  • Business planning
  • Conduct of board meetings
  • Scenario planning
  • Stress management
  • Negotiating skills
  • Presentation skills
  • People skills
  • Creativity development
  • Personal development
  • Life balance

Newly acquired skills find many applications, using new methods executives and managers organise, communicate, and manage their workforce more effectively. Some clients need to change their management or leadership style - requiring a deeper level skill change, for example, a dictatorial leadership style should be changed to one based on collaboration and teamwork. Many managers have an inappropriate leadership or management style usually because when they assume managerial positions very little if any training is provided in how to best tailor their style to lead their workforce effectively.

Business Coaching Plus takes clients outside their comfort zone and stretches them to achieve far more than they thought possible. The greater majority of clients enjoy the coaching experience with some finding it a turning point in their life.

How do senior personal obtain vital new skills to carry out their duties when they’re at the top? It becomes even more complicated with a directorship, a seat on the board or being appointed chairman – all require different skills.

Business Coaching Plus specifically focuses on facilitating personal growth, within the context of enhancing corporate or organisational effectiveness. Coaching may be directed at developing professional skills, improving performance, altering leadership style, developing competencies, or coaching for a nominated business agenda.
Following are the main coaching categories:

Performance coaching: Is designed to work with clients on improving existing skills and leadership styles within the organisational structure with the aim to improve the clients’ effectiveness and productivity.
Skills coaching: Allows a flexible, adaptive approach to the development of required essential skills an executive or manager needs to perform their duties efficiently and effectively. Consideration is given to the clients’ knowledge and experience with achieving objectives for the company.
Personal coaching: Focuses on what the client wants from their life and career and how they might achieve their aspirations all in a highly supportive and motivational environment. The coaches' role is to engender commitment, to act as a sounding-board for client's thoughts, to motivate the client to achieving both their and professional goals within the predetermined time frame.
