Guest Speaker PDF Print E-mail

Tom Baumer is an interesting & entertaining speaker who delivers thought provoking business & life concepts. He draws from his wide & varied business experiences gained from successes, failures, experts, so called experts & unforgettable characters.

His first business lesson came at a very young age – “you need to get the landlords permission”
He went on to discover that all businesses exist for exactly the same reason and surprisingly most business people have no idea what that reason is.

Tom will challenge the way you view your business, personal life, customers, staff and what’s really important in your life.

Have Tom attend your next sales conference to demonstrate that putting customers second and not being a “sales” person increases the number of “widgets” your company delivers to really satisfied customers.

This dynamic shift in thinking has a profound effect on everyone involved in the sales process!

“I am committed to delivering an entertaining and interesting high powered experience with valuable information relative to the audience that will challenge their beliefs.” – Tom Baumer

Executive and Managerial Coaching
As times get more challenging many companies are considering multi-skilling executives and managers to avoid having to down size. While the aim is to improve their performance with additional or improve skills the question is “how can this be accomplished with the co-operation of all involved?”
We recognise that executive and managerial coaching has as its purpose a clear organisational aspect. In addition to the coaching relationship a facilitator relationship needs to be established between the client and the organisation to ensure all involved are up to date with what has been accomplished. A wide variety of techniques and methods are used to help the client achieve a mutually identified set of goals to improve their performance, therefore improving the effectiveness of the client's organisation within a defined coaching structure.

Some areas where coaching is often needed include:

  • Strategy development
  • Business planning
  • Conduct of board meetings
  • Scenario planning
  • Stress management
  • Negotiating skills
  • Presentation skills
  • People skills
  • Creativity development
  • Personal development
  • Life balance

Newly acquired skills find many applications, using new methods executives and managers organise, communicate, and manage their workforce more effectively. Some clients need to change their management or leadership style - requiring a deeper level skill change, for example, a dictatorial leadership style should be changed to one based on collaboration and teamwork. Many managers have an inappropriate leadership or management style usually because when they assume managerial positions very little if any training is provided in how to best tailor their style to lead their workforce effectively.

Business Coaching Plus takes clients outside their comfort zone and stretches them to achieve far more than they thought possible. The greater majority of clients enjoy the coaching experience with some finding it a turning point in their life.

How do senior personal obtain vital new skills to carry out their duties when they’re at the top? It becomes even more complicated with a directorship, a seat on the board or being appointed chairman – all require different skills.

Business Coaching Plus specifically focuses on facilitating personal growth, within the context of enhancing corporate or organisational effectiveness. Coaching may be directed at developing professional skills, improving performance, altering leadership style, developing competencies, or coaching for a nominated business agenda.
Following are the main coaching categories:

Performance coaching: Is designed to work with clients on improving existing skills and leadership styles within the organisational structure with the aim to improve the clients’ effectiveness and productivity.
Skills coaching: Allows a flexible, adaptive approach to the development of required essential skills an executive or manager needs to perform their duties efficiently and effectively. Consideration is given to the clients’ knowledge and experience with achieving objectives for the company.
Personal coaching: Focuses on what the client wants from their life and career and how they might achieve their aspirations all in a highly supportive and motivational environment. The coaches' role is to engender commitment, to act as a sounding-board for client's thoughts, to motivate the client to achieving both their and professional goals within the predetermined time frame.

When you next open the doors to your business, be it at home or on the top of the tallest building in your city, be brutally honest and for a moment put yourself in the position of one of your clients, suppliers or associates and ask:

" IS THIS A PROFESSIONAL LOOKING BUSINESS"?

Is it presented in keeping with my industry, does it project the image that “quality” customers expect, is it better or worse than the competition.

Look at the paintwork, signage, lighting, glass, footpaths, car park, what about those weeds growing through the footpath and the computer that hasn't been
dusted for weeks.

The object is to immediately give a professional image from the first time a person comes in contact with your business.

As the saying goes "you never ever, ever get a second chance at making a first impression".

Did you know that it takes the average person only 15 seconds to form their first impression of you?

People come into contact with your business in more ways than one, and all these need to be analysed.

Stationary, company vehicles, sign writing, staff uniforms, equipment used in the operation of your business, advertising and so on.

An extremely important consideration should be the image your communication system projects when people are trying to contact you.

How is the phone answered, does your web site look professional is your logo outdated when was the last time you looked at your business card?

You are working towards the future and if your business looks like a relic operating in the past it only a matter of time before it becomes history.

Business Coaching Plus works with all types and sizes of business to ensure every aspect of their company projects the right image – professional, successful an organisation that you want to do business with.

Testimonial

Great results have been achieved by clients.

"One of my clients from the very first meeting improved cash flow.  The
investment in Tom's services were negligible compared to the ongoing
increased returns."
